The space between the fences is very narrow at 1.37 inches, which prevent puppies, kittens or children to squeeze through or get their heads stuck between the fences. And this safety gate is adjustable in width, making it possible to safely divide areas where pets or babies should not enter, such as kitchens, entrances, or staircases. It can be adjusted to fit the space, making it very convenient.

Much better quality then expected. I purchased 3 gates to limit the areas where my cats can go. I especially like the height extensions as the cats can jump quite high but these keep them from jumping over the top. Just make sure there is nothing for them to jump up on to go over the top as the extension doesn't go all the to the top of the door opening. It's nice the door opens both ways and since the extension is connected to the door, you don't have to bend over to go through it. Putting it together took less then 35 minutes.
