The components for this product were decent enough for the price.
It seems like it could/would be sturdy enough to withstand some heavy weather (rain storms and wind- maybe light snow, but I live in the south so that isn't a concern for me)
However, I have yet to install it!
The sleeve anchor bolts it came with were useless.
While I am quite advanced in my capabilities, (I am a 50+ y/o woman who lives alone and have endeavored with countless "home improvement projects" before), I've never had the occasion to need these types of bolts, so I was unfamiliar with the bolts (sleeve anchor bolts) it came with. I had to spend quite some time on line first finding out what kind of bolts these were, then searching for how to install.
All which was a fruitless endeavor as the ones they sent simply did not work.
I followed the step by step installation "directions" I found on line, marked the spots, matched up the size of the drillbit, drilled the holes to the appropriate depth, inserted the bolts, rotated the bolts to "open up" the anchors, and remived the bolts to then hoist up the awning to reinsert the bolts through the holes and low and behold, the bolts did not screw in. Literally did not "catch" the threads and came right out. I tried with two (one on each side) and the same thing.
Then when I went to try again with the other 2 bolts (I had to reposition the awning a tad to try again) and the same thing!!
I even triple checked how to install, made sure the anchors and bolts themselves were assemble properly, made sure I had inserted properly etc, (which I did the first time) and they still didn't work!!
So now I have 4 holes with 4 stripped anchor sleeves uselessly stuck in the wall, with no room left to "place" the awning in it's intended place over my door without having to repatch, purchase 4 new bolts, and try again. Although not even sure how that would would being that the sleeves would still be stuck in the holes... or if a "repatched" base would even be sturdy enough for installation.
Absolutely annoyed/piz'd, especially being that I can't return it because before the "attempted" installation, I had painted the brackets to match the trim of the house.
These are the "directions" it comes with, making note that I could not find any link to the seller(maker) in order to get proper instruction.. Jennifer. LA. Mon May 12 2025
