i AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY NEW RANGE. jUST NEED TO GET USED TO IT lOVE THE GRIDDLE FEATURE

Nice range with crisper mode. Works well but... Just installed last Friday 6/6. Replaced today 6/13 due to what we thought was a defective display light. (See photo The stove top has an indicator light that displays "Cooktop On", which bleeds into a "Hot" indicator light, which the gas range version doesn't offer. This is confusing since the electric stove does offer the "Hot" light with the identical display. More to follow.

Limited experience so far. Product probably works ok but absence of an included hard copy manual makes it difficult, inconvenient and awkward to ensure safe use and to understand its features. Manufacturer's claim that the planet is being saved by they not providing a manual rings hollow because of the effort a customer must make to acquire one.

Here are the Pros: My 80-year old mother wanted the following things in her new range that this model checked off: - Free-standing gas range -- neither one of us likes those slide-in ranges, because any time you fry something the wall behind it gets greasy - Broiler in the oven -- neither one of us are getting down on our knees to broil fish under the range - Storage drawer at the bottom - Stainless steel -- she wanted cream / biscuit, but the ONE free-standing gas range we found with Whirlpool in biscuit was discontinued. Why is it next to impossible to get appliances in cream now? - Oval center burner (for gravy) - A large clock / temperature display - A traditional oven (not convection) None of these items should be difficult to find in one unit, yet this was the only GE model that checked all of those boxes, and only two Whirlpool models did the same (but for more money). So far, so good... this model bakes evenly (though I do need to calibrate it; it's hotter than the temperature claims), the burners work perfectly; we haven't used the crisp function yet but that's next to try out; and the clock / temperature display is nice and big / bright. Mom is happy with having a traditional oven, because my oven is convection and I have to change all my cooking times and temperatures. My Mom would much rather keep the same cooking times and temperatures that she has used for 60+ years. Now, onto the Cons: The biggest con had nothing to do with GE, and that was Home Depot's delivery (I'll write another review on HD's website). The biggest con with this specific GE model is that you can't run the broiler and the microwave at the same time. I tripped the circuit breaker by doing that because, fun fact, the broiler is electric and uses a TON of energy! Now, for last-minute Thanksgiving vegetables, I can't broil asparagus and microwave peas simultaneously, and that is a massive down-side. The electric broiler also doesn't crisp up vegetables and fish in quite the same way as a gas broiler does, nor is it as even with its cooking. The second disadvantage of this model is that it only comes with a skillet over the oval burner. I had no option to purchase a grate, instead. She will never use the skillet. No idea how to switch this out, but I'm going to try to call GE to get a replacement. The third big downside is that the timer alarm is pretty quiet, and I can't hear it 2 rooms away. And finally, this range didn't come with an owner's manual. Come on, GE. You're not fooling anyone. You're not "saving trees" by not providing something as essential as an owner's manual, you're saving yourself some money, that is all. My mother is 80. She isn't going to go online for anything, because she doesn't know how to do so. The biggest complaint I had with Home Depot's delivery is that they swore up and down to CALL her land line the night before the delivery with a window. They didn't call her. They e-mailed me. Why can't companies accommodate the elderly and those who cannot afford a smart phone? All in all, my Mom is happy with this range, because it's the closest she could get to the things she wanted.

My new stove is awesome! It looks great in my kitchen and cooks like a dream! I like the power boil burner. It does reduce cooking time. The griddle is large enough for my large grilling needs. It's good to have the additional storage drawer below the oven. I can't wait to try the crisp mode and self cleaning with steam features.

Both the range and the oven work great. I love the fact that it is a gas range and not electric. The oven and range works much better than the electric version.

Miss having the stove operating manual in your hand instead of online

At first glance the gas range appears to be user friendly.
