Don't know about extra wide, but 20 inches is enough. The 40 inch length ensures a gradual rise when used for swollen legs. You can be sleep on your side as well as back and get the same benefit I noticed the difference the first night. Most leg elevators are too high and ungainly so become q sleep interrupting pain rather than a help.

This product is not what the picture shows, The picture shows that the mattress topper is a lot fuller than it actually is.

I like to have a relatively small amount of supportelevation in a pillow, with a VERY soft surface. This wedge, combined with a specialty down pillow that’s (intentionally) lightly-filled, helped me FINALLY hit the sweet spot. I was pleasantly surprised at how firm the wedge is at the same time, it’s still comfortable if I happen to roll off center through the night (no feeling of an abrupt cliff). It doesn’t look like much—it’s literally just foam, no cover or case—but this is seriously one of the better investments in my physical well-being I’ve made recently. I’ve been sleeping incredibly well. I tucked mine under the fitted sheet, and it stays in placeblends in visually.
