Mattress is VERY firm. I'm a side sleeper and my shoulders are sore in the morning. This mattress is heavy and sturdy, so once it's out of the shrink wrap, there's just no way it could be returned. So, now I'm stuck with a way too hard mattress and now need to purchase a mattress topper, plus some deep pocket sheets to accommodate a topper. I sleep hot and while the description says cooling gel, there's zero cooling effect that i can detect. On the plus side, the mattress is good quality, has no smell, and is nice and thick.
