Extremely sturdy, functional and it would be perfection if the solid wood finish was a rich cherry finish rather than the dull brown received. A beautiful piece and would certainly recommend it to others!

Beautiful. It adds to our small foyer and does not take up a lot of space. Its just perfect, in my opinion, with my Queen Anne furniture. I am the lady of the house who can not wait until others are ready to assemble things. It was easy for me to put together and move about. After taking this photo, however, I noticed the rack is not perpendicular to the base. Perhaps I will adjust something or tighten the pole. Other than that, wah lah!

One leg is defective, so the entire coat rack is useless. All the legs should be exactly alike. I am told I might get a replacement in 3 months.

Yes, as many people have reviewed there are cut marks on the main post of the wood and the legs in spots are painted/smeared with gold paint (see photos). I personally think the coat rack would look much better without them ( I like distress marks that occur/look more natural), but the manufacturer refers to them as distress marks and when your not standing right on top of the coat rack you don't even see them and when coats are hanging on it you wouldn't even guess they were there. So, I gave it five stars because I knew from other reviews when I bought it the distress marks were going to be there and I really like the look of the coat rack. The coat rack was packaged extremely well, is solid, holds a lot of coats, was so easy to put together and it even has adjustable feet and like I said I don't even notice the distress marks are there even without coats on it but they are there. I'm really glad I bought it!

I was very pleased with this purchase. The base and legs were sturdier than pictured. Looks beautiful.
