Solid piece. Placed 7 of these side by side. Created perfect work stations. Looks great when closed and would work great in small spaces.

This desk/shelves combo was just the thing I needed for my small apartment. Now I can have a sewing table when needed, and easily rotate it back out of the way to make room for company. I managed to put it together on my own, but it would have been easier with a helper. I am impressed by the quality and sturdiness of this desk, and it has nice plastic feet that make it open and close easily on my wood floors. It's a great crowd pleaser to show off the easy rotation.

This is a gorgeous desk; the lacquer is expensive-looking and the swivel aspect is perfect for many design situations. However, assembly came with a few challenges - mainly, some of the internal structure components weren't long enough to hold the separate pieces of the desk together. (We were able to make it work.) I can see this being a defect that may have been a one-off, but it definitely was an issue.
