Flythe Ladder Bookcase

Better than expected. Wow, I was shocked when it arrived. Well packaged and much heavier than I anticipated. For the price, I expected the rails to be much thinner, but they arent frail, they are heavy with a good connection for each piece. Perfect description and all the measurements matched, about 71 tall total, top shelf is about 58.5. Shelves are about 23 long and 12 deep. Shelves sit inside the side rails, so side to side is about 24. The bottom shelf is about 6.5 off the floor. I have baseboard heating which makes things tricky. The steel rails are perfect since the unit is near the heat source. I knew the bottom shelf would not clear the heating unit, and was planning to get some pipe and jack-up the bottom, but once I got it together, I liked the height and didnt want it any higher (thought it might bring the ceiling down) so I opted to eliminate the bottom shelf HOWEVER that bottom shelf has a bracket to supply a third connection point to the wall so I swapped it out for what would have been the middle shelf. That way I could anchor it to the wall. I used the hardware provided, the hex screws are pretty cheap, but it all seemed to work. I got the white unit and the shelves have that fake woodgrain look to them when I would have preferred smooth, but not a game changer. I assembled alone because I have no friends, so did not tighten till I had all the shelves on the rails. (I did tighten the rail pieces together right away). When it was time to attach to the wall, there was plenty of adjustment available since its just two rails. A level is best. Im at a new place with no tools, so used a glass of water and tape measurements (same for both rails off the ceiling, from the wall) you can kick the bottom of the rails a bit to make it perfect. Once I got it where I wanted it, I duck-taped it to the wall and marked the holes for the top two rails. I removed the unit, drilled for the anchors ( I know what youre thinking, I borrowed the drill from a new neighbor) and anchored the rails. Next I anchored the bracket on the one shelf by attaching the bracket to the shelf, marking the holes on the wall, then loosening the bracket screws on the shelf, spinning the bracket out of the way, drilling and installing the anchors, spinning the bracket back and tighten it all up. (Screw the bracket to the wall first, then use gentle pressure on shelf to make it pushed flush to the wall and tighten the screws holding the bracket to the shelf.) I bought it on sale thinking it would do until I found something better, but its a keeper!!! Yay.

Kind of chincy as far as stability goes, but they were cheap and work well for my space for a while!

Very affordable product for the impact. We had a small unused space and it fit without looking bulky. It is only dry wall screw mounted, don’t let your kids climb on it… but it’s sturdy enough for the price point. No wobble. Boards are shiny not matte.

Wish they would design these things with hidden screws and bolts. I’m not finished with the mural behind this,but I will paint over the hardware. It takes up little floor space and helps a lot with storage of bathroom items,good for towels etc.

Overall good quality and looks nice. The wood texture is a little cheap looking, but for the price it’s still nice and sturdy.

I purchased two of these for my office organization of our foodshow events. Fits a lot of our decor table stuff without taking up tons of space with a “deep” shelf or cheap plastic one. Easy to assemble. Sturdy once attached to the wall.

Inexpensive, sturdy, and easy to assemble. Just make sure to use a level when attaching to the wall.

Came on time, easy to assemble and loved the finished look!
