Where to start Wayfair did not ship this with a signature required and for as much as this cost I thought it would need a signature. FedEx did not obtain both parts of this shipment at the same time and when both were in FedEx custody in GA they then got shipped to CA, mind you I live in NY. The arrival date to my home got postponed to a date that was not good for me because I work and also required me to change the date for the person I was paying through Wayfair to assemble the cabinet. I was not happy but I could deal with it. I then arranged for FedEx to hold my order to my next day off, I paid extra for this. Still my order was delayed even longer than my requested date. All of that upset me but I could deal with the inconvenience until the day the first box arrived. That driver instead of driving up my driveway to deliver to my door decided it was a good idea to dump my 70 plus pound package at the side of the road next to my mailbox and just drive off. Frantically I tried to contact FedEx so I hoped they could tell the driver to get back to my home and fix this horrible mistake. It took me 30 minutes to finally talk to a live person who then told me he was sorry but there was nothing he could do to help me or fix this problem. I finally went crying to a neighbor requesting help getting this very heavy box to my home. Then I called Wayfair who also stated they could not do anything but advised me to check the contents of the box for damage then let them know if I needed a replacement, and that I should call FedEx and lodge a formal complaint regarding the delivery of my box. I already plan to do just that. Because it was so late I put off checking the contents of the box until the next day. After checking the contents of the box I reported back to Wayfair that the contents were in good shape. The person I spoke to stated good news the second package is out to be delivered today. Unfortunately it was not FedEx website still said that it was in transit from California. I asked the representative at Wayfair why my package was not sent with a signature required and I was told that it was not up to Wayfair that set that up that was up to FedEx. I was like are you kidding me I know that the customer States if they want a signature required for delivery or not. But whatever. Later that day I received a phone call from FedEx, a local one not far from my home. I was told that my second package was being held at the facility within a few miles of my home. I was also told that it was being held as it required a signature and an appointment date of when I wanted the box to be delivered. Apparently Wayfair contacted FedEx stating that they now wanted a signature to confirm delivery. I set up my delivery time and requested to speak with a person to lodge a formal complaint regarding the first delivery person. I was connected to a gentleman who I found out was taking a lot of phone calls regarding complaints against the same delivery person who dumped my package at the side of the road. That person got fired. I spoke with the person at the complaint department at length and stated that my delivery instructions did state to bring the packages to my front door and he confirmed that that information was available for the drivers. The next day my package was delivered as promised and in good shape. I canceled my request for someone to come to my home to assemble this cabinet. I could not find a time on the schedule when it would be convenient to have someone here for a couple hours. I knew I could assemble the cabinet myself after looking over the instructions and if needed I could get someone to help me move it once it was put together. Putting the cabinet together was not difficult. Reading the instructions was not difficult. However it was awkward at times and very heavy at times. In the end I managed to get it together without too much trouble. But there was some issues with this cabinet that had I known about in advance I might have thought twice about buying this cabinet especially considering how much it costs and all the problems that I went through to get it into my home. There are not pilot holes to every screw that is to be placed. If you do not have a drill in order to make a pilot hole you will have difficulty and I also do recommend getting a screw gun to help set the screws because doing them all by hand is extremely fatiguing on the hand and the arm. But I do have a drill and I was able to take care of that problem not happily but I could do it myself. My biggest complaint regarding this cabinet is the large holes where the turn lock fits into for each of these setting pegs. There was nothing included that would be placed over that exposed hole. Even some of the cheapest made cabinets come with a sticker to at least place over such a hole so that you cannot see anything as ugly as a setting knob or whatever it is called. So in order to make it look like a nicer piece of furniture in my home I had to buy some wooden plugs to be set into those holes. So yes another added expense that I did not plan for. I was also not thrilled with the light that is included so I did buy light that has a remote control. I wanted to be able to set the light in an area where it would not be seen but would still light the cabinet up so my placement would not have allowed the motion sensor to function very well. I bought a light that has a remote to it so I have no issues in getting the new light to turn on. The last issue that I have about this cabinet is that the very top is not flat so it would be difficult to set anything on top of this cabinet without adding something into the recess section that is up there. At this time I have placed pieces of the foam that came with the packaging of this cabinet to fill in the recessed areas so I could place a couple things on top. Not ideal but they cannot be seen by anybody just walking by. Overall after the modifications the cabinet is fine. Would I have bought it if I knew I was going to have to go through all of this Absolutely not.
