If it happens to break, it will shatter into harmless glass pebbles. The door is very lightweight and easy to use. It definitely accents the fireplace and seems to be well made.

Fit perfect with the fireplace that I installed and only took a few minutes to put it on. The family loves the entire firebox set up. Very happy with the result of it.
