Door Surface Bolt

Have a very tall 3-year-old granddaughter who has learned how to unlock the door and open it and loves to be outside. This was necessary to keep her from getting outside and walking away without us knowing it. Works well.

Lock arrived undamaged and packaged well. If I had to choose this lock again...would I...definitely not. Very difficult to get to stay in place when trying to screw it in. If the back didnt fall off the slide brackets, then the screws kept falling because they are small. Couldnt get the slide bolt to go all the way through the plate on the other side but maybe it doesnt. I saw another review that looks the same as mine. Definitely not intended for security. It does keep my closet door shut, wich was the reason for getting it. I got it on crooked ,but it will serve its purpose for now. Would not recommend for doors into your house but works for keeping my closet door shut . Thank you.

I needed one of these for my basement door I need to have it locked like this so that my grandkids cant open the door and fall down the stairs because he is at that age ld like the look of this its very sleek modern looking I prefer not to have the older locks that are like this I like the squareness of it I would recommend very sturdy nice quality! This lock is very sturdy. The size is of the correct length. It has a smooth siding when open. Ive been wanting extra security. The color is a very shiny gold tone. Not showing on the door for safety reason.

This dead bolt is just enough to slow down any unwanted visitors. It gives some sense of security. I would recommend this to my family and friends to use. My grandchildren cant reach it so I know that they cant get out.

I was not impressed with this lock. It’s definitely not very secure. It’s not easy to install because if you slide it back too far the slide will not slide back through the locklatch. You have to completely unscrew and put it back together and reattach it again (you can see the extra holes in my wood where I had to keep fixing the slide) and get it adjusted so you can’t slide it back too far. I would not purchase this again. The only place I am comfortable using this is on my chicken coop door but I also have a second latch that is actually more secure.
