The first one I ordered in May was used. The hose was missing and the unit smelled like skunk as soon as I turned it on and the smell never went away.
I contacted Wayfair over a dozen times to resolve the issue, and they told me to call Frigidaire directly to send out a replacement. Keep in mind that I gave myself a hernia bringing this unit up to my apartment, cause FedEx is terrible.
I told Wayfair about the entire ordeal and they wanted me to drop this AC unit off at a FedEx location. I was recovering from days hernia and a surgery at the time. So they said HubGroup would come pick it up. I wasted two whole days waiting around for them and they never called or showed up.
So I'm sitting here stressed out because I keep getting emails from Wayfair saying how I'll be charged for both units if I don't return the first one.
I spent countless hours/days/weeks trying to get this sorted. Guess when they finally delivered the second unit? June 26th. About a month and a half after I started the replacement process.
The box was smashed, cut, and taped over. The unit turned itself on as soon as I plugged it in (red flag) and the remote doesn't work. The fan speed button on the unit doesn't work 99% of the time.
Three second unit is missing a screw and the others are rusted and stripped. I guess some are just for decoration, because they don't tighten.
Within a week of using the unit, the dust filter indicator comes on. Another red flag. I open the door and look at the filter. I don't see any dust, but I take it outand use a duster on both sides just in case. That's when I noticed the smashed/bent metal grate. Ghetto.
The unit is SO loud (87 decibels, which will cause hearing loss) any time the compressor is running.
I called Frigidaire thinking maybe they could help me. I wasted over an hour of my life on the phone with someone who is in some part of Asia and kept interrupting me and asking the same questions.
PLEASE do not buy this product, especially from Wayfair (or anywhere else, unless you want extra stress in your life). I've never had this issue until now.
It took SO long just trying to figure out how to get the hose to fit into my AC port. I would give this -100 stars if I could.
Wayfair's customer service has really gone downhill the past several years. Even one rep told me that and was so apathetic about it.
What did Wayfair do to make things right, you ask? They supposedly have me a 10% off coupon. As if I'll be buying anything from them ever again.
