Do not buy this mantel! The mantel arrived damaged, which I understand happens so I wouldn’t be furious if that was the only problem. However, this product is described as solid wood and maple, which it is not. It is made of particle board which was made clear because of the chipped corner. The way it assembles is trash. It is being held together by only two dowels. They have you screw in a couple bolts but there are no threaded portions or nuts included on the other piece for it to secure them together. It will stay standing once it’s upright, but it is very wobble to get there. For $1000 do not buy this junk.

First one arrived as if it had been an open box, no instructions - missing hardware - some that was in the box was just floating around and the mantle itself was damaged. Waited for a replacement - which also arrived damaged. Had to pay my contractor extra to repair it. Does not take stain well, BUYER BEWARE.

Order the poplar primed option and very happy with it. Haven’t installed yet but shipping was fastwrapped well.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! The mantel is of poor quality. The first mantel arrived with the molding separating from the mantel itself, and when assembled the screws provided did not hold the sides to the top. We requested a replacement. Thinking the replacement would be fine we threw out the box. The replacement arrived with a large gash in top front. I wish I took a picture. So we were stuck with one!!!! We had to make the first one work with caulk and metal plates. Wayfair answers was return both for a full refund. No consideration or credit given for the repair.
