The fan can be placed in a horizontal or vertical stance. The remote control can be magnetically attached to the side of the fan when not in use. I couldn't get it to work. The light showed, so I don't know what is going on. I put brand new batteries in it. I love a loud fan when I sleep and this would not be used because it is to quiet. But, it is perfect for everything else. Also, it sits on a very sturdy base and is built very nice.

I was a bit concerned as my husband needed the noise from the box fan, but it hasn't seemed to bother him. I was also concerned that I wouldn't get enough output since I don't have the full output of an entire square blowing at me (night sweats keep me blowing it in my direction at night but I have not had an issue. This guy has great output. It has multiple levels, from 1 to 10, and you can keep it stationary as I do or oscillating. It has a base that you screw on and doesn't take up much real estate at all. It can be used inside or out and comes with a remote if needed. Definitely recommend!

The fact that it comes with a remote control that you could use while you're laying in bed is absolutely priceless! It gives off so much air flow but you can't even hear it because it's whisper quiet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely love the fan, it's so sleek that it can fit any where. It has the oscillating feature and it works really well. The noise level is almost nil and it does not produce any sound. I use it during the night and the air flow is uniform and the speed can be controlled. The build quality is as well good and it is durable. The remote control along with the fan it's very handy and helpful residual when I'm sleeping, I can control the speed. It cannot be used in a large room as the air flow is not that strong, but it can be used in the bed room or on a side table.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Found this super quiet Vornado - blows just enough air to keep me cool. The STRATA 8T offers adjustable oscillation range of 90° or 180°. Delivers a strong blast of air from the handy remote, which also operates in a horizontal motion along with the speed, which works great without having to bend over. I'm quite happy with the updraft, which is a steady breeze from most fans. Gives a nice circulation of air to an average room while occupying a small, low footprint. My tower fan was too noisy for that. So far, this has been a satisfying and reliable unit. It's such a small footprint, but it blows an impressive amount of air.

Love how sleek the design is and has the oscillating function and also can be controlled with remote. This little thing can push some air and can be directed to up or down manually which make getting that perfect comfort zone a breeze. The Vornado Strata 8T Table is so much more than I really expected! This would make a perfect office fan or even just a nightstand fan to use when needing to get a great night of sleep.
