The effortless enjoyment of Gerber® Plumbing Fixtures floor mount tub fillers begins with the simple installation of the rough-in valve. The rough-in valve can be installed in any direction as long as the bathtub center line is aligned with one of the six screws on the plaster guard. The plaster guard has a flat top for easy leveling in installation to ensure the trim will be standing straight after installation. A test cap and plugs are included for pressure testing the connection between the rough-in valve and water supply lines.

this was used for the installation of the HansGrohe Axor in-wall bathtub faucet. it is my understanding that one can go without using pre-fabricated manufacturer's fittings and use something different, but our plumber said it is of very good quality and design - apparently there were some extra parts included to make installation easier. i don't know if this has any part in making the water flow really smooth and steady but if yes - everything works great. would definitely recommend.. The faucet looks great and the color match exactly the website. However, when I am paying nearly $400 for a faucet I would expect the pullout head to be magnet to the faucet. this pullout head is hardly stick back in place and it looks very lousy look.
