I found this bamboo steamer to be just what I needed. The trays are large and I can heat separate items in the two included trays. It looks like additional trays can be placed in the same stack if needed, but that would require the purchase of additional trays, or a matching steamer to get two trays from each. You will want to check the dimensions of the pan you plan to use to boil the water (generate the steam). This steamer perfectly set on top of the edge of my pan, but it does not fit down into the lip along the pan's edge, meaning that the steamer tray's if nudged might allow steam to escape through the edge, or possibly even be knocked off the top of the pan (note that neither happened when I used it). I expect this is more an issue of the pan that I used, rather than the steamer, but my suggestion is to carefully consider the dimensions of each when selecting the steamer that is right for you..
