There is some good, bad, and some ugly to purchasing this shed kit.
Good – I got a great price, I got a partial refund, and the shed quality was good. Most cuts were accurate, and minimal damaged pieces (from transport, forklift pokes, etc). Materials are good quality, all boards have at least 1 good side, with minimal warping.
Bad – If you have any issues with your delivered boxes being incorrect (which mine was), you are going to be investing some serious time following up with this company, unless you don’t care about how long they take to fix the problem. They did fix this problem, but it took them a few weeks to figure out what to do (with daily follow-up on my end). The stamping on the boards to identify what 'pieces' yo are putting together, don't turn out looking like anything legible, so you need to select your pieces for each 'step' based on piece measurements.
Ugly - Processes/logistics with Backyard Products (HANDY HOMES) company are inadequate for boxes/deliveries of this magnitude. There is a total lack of comprehension as to why they are struggling to get these delivered as promised. If they can’t deliver this to your driveway (which was expected at time of purchase), then you will need to have a back-up plan to get this package on your own truck/trailer from the local freight company. The box trucks delivering this product have lift gates, which won't work well with a 4'x8' pallet. If you don’t have your own forklift at home capable of lifting 1 Metric Ton (2,017 lbs), then you will need to look into renting one….At your cost....
The shed is awesome, however I would certainly build a stronger floor than they have listed. To build this shed, it will take MANY hours of MANY weekends if doing by yourself. This shed is completely disassembled, with the exception of the doors. This is NOT one of those shed kits where the full wall is assembled for you prior to shipping.. Josh W.
