Lovely duel chamber trash can. The lids are quiet & quick to open with the foot pedal, & they lower slowly & silently. The soft finish on the bronze exterior looks great while also being "fingerprint-free." One thing to note is that the custom fit Songmic trash bags don't fit this model as well as generic non-branded trash bags. If you want the lift handle for the removable trash can to be outside the trash bag/acessible, then using the Songmics trash bag means the lid to the trash will be left ajar. If you choose to cover the lift handle with the Songmics trash bag, then the trash can lid is left just slightly raised. It is good for small spaces and to keep dogs out of the trash. It is not so good for those who like the option to open by hand or don’t want fiddle with making sure the inside cans go in perfectly. It is beautiful and slim lined so it fits perfectly at the end of the counter and can be pushed all the way back because the lid is small and will open against the wall without touching the wall. The trade off is that the only way to open it is with the foot pedal (if that breaks, you can’t open it with your hand—. Good to keep dogs out of the trash though) and the cans must go in perfectly (there’s no room for error) or the lid doesn’t close. Nice as far as garbage cans go. Seems like a good large capacity, and you can use any garbage bags. Exterior is nice looking, a black stainless steel finish. Foot pedal seems like it takes more pressure to open than my last one, but maybe its because its new. You can lock the lid in open position if you push all the way back.. Michele. I’m extremely pleased with this elegant and sturdy stainless steel trash can!! I am using it in my Hair salon. It has a step on lever that opens the lid so I don’t have to touch anything, which is very helpful when disposing if chemical Supplies ie- foils, perm wraps etc.. The lid has a system in place that closes very slowly so it doesn’t slam shut. If I were to change anything, it would be to have the lid open more. I’d guesstimate it opens at about a 70 degree angle. I feel 90 degrees would make it a little easier to deposit the cut hair out of the dust pan. I use a long handled dust pan that is a larger size than the typical dust pan. But that’s a personal view. Easy to clean. I use a little windex .. shines right up! Really like this trash and recycling can! It fits our space well. The noise when opening and closing is a little louder than expected but it’s not a big issue. It takes 3x D batteries so we hope it’ll last! The labels are magnetic so you can switch sides any time you want. Note that there isn’t another “liner” plastic can inside (like the SimpleHuman brand) but it has 2 plastic rings that would keep the bags in place.
