It is slightly firm (I think why it’s held up well) though it would be much more comfortable with giant couch pillows. We are huge loungers and we have put in a lot of hours on the couch and it’s holding up very well. The couch is a huge hit at family gatherings because everyone fits! Cons the only thing really is that I wish the cushions were a little thickermore substantial. They have stayed a little bit lumpy since we set it up a week ago.
