Really love it. Looks expensive, very sturdy, attractive color. Two reasons for not giving 5 stars. The first is that it did not come with a kit to attach it to the post. Maybe this is not a given, it was my first time ever installing my own mailbox, but it would have been nice if the description had noted that a kit would be needed. I ended up having to delay installation a day because of needing to go to the store to buy a kit to attach it to the post. The second reason is that my mailbox came with a little chip of the bronze material missing. I’ve shown this in one of my pictures. Wife and I decided to replace the generic plastic mailbox with something that matched our home. This was the perfect solution for us! The mailbox is extremely solid, not like the sheet metal mailboxes that the big boxes offer. Mailbox was also very easy to assemble. Most difficult part was digging the hole. Previous owner only had the post down 18" or so, which explained why it was so wobbly. I didn't want to set the post in concrete in case a snow plow driver decided to take it out and I would need to replace it at some point. So, I decided to set the post down 42" and just repack with dirt, which worked out great. However, once I started digging, I quickly discovered why the previous owner stopped at 18"! Just got a chance to install this product after our move. Unfortunately the top of the box was dented. This wasn't something done during shipping, as the product was cushioned by a couple of boxes. It looks like someone dropped it on a hard edge and decided to ship it that way anyway, which is kind of bad since the dent is obvious. Also the hooks that hold the sign don't fit the holes. We had to MacGyver it. Too bad because the rest of it is cute. The mailbox came as ordered and was very well packaged. Assembly was fairly simple, along side a shovel or post hole diggers just some basic tools I.e. screwdriver, players and a adjustable wrench was all that was needed. Oh.. don’t forget most importantly the level. (concrete to set the pole was highly recommended) The size of the mailbox is slightly larger than the average ones that I’ve looked at in some of the local stores. But that was a plus. Metal design was a must as we have purchased magnetic covers to change for different seasons and occasions. The door is is a durable hard plastic and has a strong magnetic latch. The pole was a two piece powder coated metal connection that used screws which were concealed by the bottom decorative base. The hardware that was used for the mailbox base plate itself was also concealed with a hard plastic upper decorative covering. Overall we love the look. It was just enough to stand out but not overdid. We also have ordered a magnetic house number which we can move when needed. I would expect that a mailbox that is outdoors would have stainless steel screws. With a white finish I can look forward to brown stains from the rusted screws.
