The gas range is very powerful, the iron grill is sturdy and offers a flat top (no pot or pan wiggling!) for the entire range. This feature is helpful in a small kitchen with limited counter space. Other reviewers are correct when saying the temperature dial needs to be set above the needed temp to get a correct preheat. Remedy with a hanging oven thermometer. Do not, I repeat, Do not get the ‘GE Installation’ service with this appliance. Even if you buy an installation kit. The technician will come in, excuse in hand, and will tell you that any dust, or light green on the gas pipe disallows them to service the installation. (When plumbers test for gas leaks upon installation they spray a little water on the line, leading to a light green) Be ready with your own plumber on the day of delivery. I used the stainless steel model and the stainless had a high end looking finish and cool color tint (not an odd warm/brown undertone that done Chester stainless has and is difficult to match with other appliances).. Overall, this is perfect for my needs. There are a couple of downsides. A little difficult to changes temperatures. The feature I thought I would love (but actually don't) is that you don't see a definitive line where the pot goes. Now I'm wishing I could see it just a bit better.
