I was a little hesitant to buy a mattress online without trying it first, but the price was so good I figured it was worth taking a chance. I’ve had two different guests sleep on it so far, and both are pretty picky when it comes to mattresses. They both commented on how comfortable it was without me even asking! I think that says a lot. Our new Avenco gel memory foam mattress is very good for our 9 year old son’s bed. We ordered a queen to replace his older one, which was way too firm. This new one is just firm enough, but you still sink into the foam a bit. When I lay down on it, I wake up much less sore, because the other one actually hurt my back. Ok, the biggest issue right now is the smell. We are still trying to get that to go away. The directions said to strip the bedding during the day and put a fan in the direction of the bed with a window open. It’s only been four days since we opened it up, so we are crossing our fingers that the smell subsides. Thus, the reason for the 4 stars. For comfort, it definitely deserves 5 stars.. Maureen.
