I purchased this as my project table that I can stow away when I am done, as I dont have too to leave a table up indefinitely. I am showing the legs to indicate this can be opened by one person. I have advanced arthritis in my hands, so it is pretty uncomfortable, but it can be done. Press the knobs on either side so the metal can slide, then step on the metal bar between the legs and pull your body upwards while continuing to depress the metal buttons.
