Bought this unit 13 months ago. We have not had any mechanical issues. However, there are 2 issues that are frustrating 1) the agitation and spin cycle excessively beat your clothes which produces ALOT of lint. There is no lint filter in the machine to collect the garment fibres that break off during these cycles. We had to install a lint trap in the stink drain to collect all the lint that MUST be cleaned after (and sometimes during) every use. If not, the lint will clog our drain pipe with grey hardened lint that requires a plumber to break it up! 2) dark clothes regularly get covered with grey lint smudges. These need to be cleaned off manually. because of this we question the cleanliness of the laundry. We just use tide liquid soap - at most level 3 of 5 on the measure. We will add borax powder or Oxiclean powder to the towel loads only. We bought GE based on the trust we had with our local independent retailer. We have a GE dryer and Fridge that are working properly. But the washing machine...? Probably would not buy it again. A relative has a HE Top load in another brand and they don't have these issues.. This the worst washer I have ever owned. So noisy. Does not spin as well as my old one that was 25 years old. Fabric softener spots on my dark clothes. No option for a deep rinse/fill for colours. Pleasantly surprised. Works really good, I never expected it to work that good. It is very quiet and agitates and spin stronger than expected. Never new anyone that had a portable washer. It would have been nice to have directions before starting but it wasn't hard to figure out. I haven't tried the air dry. *Edit* I think I figured out it just doesn't do small loads. It does have a strong wash cycle, but no delicate cycle or light load. Sometimes, I don't want a full load, I thought that was on the console. It washes so hard that it tangles the clothes really tight. I have to stand there and untangle them every so often, so they can rinse better. Also, why doesn't the the water stop when washer is full? Have to turn it off at the faucet or it pops off the hose. Am I missing something, maybe a part I can buy?. Donna. US. Fri Jun 26 2026
