It is sturdy, lays flat against the opening but the black color on the screen wore off in some spots after the very first fire as you can see from the attached pictures. To me it doesn’t matter because this is an outdoor fireplace but it would bother me if it was indoors and I was looking at it on a daily basis. Otherwise I’m satisfied with the product.. Anonymous. Obsessed with this screen! I had been looking for well over a year for a simple yet tasteful fireplace screen….I found it! We have 2 very curious and nosey cats 2 14 years, and we’re expecting our first baby. We needed something to keep the cats out of the fireplace, this screen is perfect! I love the double doors opening from the center, and it’s a perfect fit. A little light weight but it serves it’s purpose. If I rated on looks alone I would give it a 5 star review but based on the craftsmanship I have to give it a three star. The door handles are uneven and one of the front braces was not perpendicular to the screen. The doors are very beautiful but I feel the craftsmanship could have been far better. Robin.
