You mount them on posts that you stake into the ground, and during the day the solar panel atop the lights collects rays from the sun, charging the battery within so that energy can be utilized as light when it gets dark. The lights have an internal light sensor so that they turn on automatically at dusk, and off at dawn.

Excellent.so nice to look in your yard at night and being able to see.. when you come home in the evening having your yard visible awesome... and I might add living in FL with the storms we get especially Tropical Storms and Hurricanes we have lost power up to 14 days, I even had people ask me when was my power restored .. that is especially special..
