Vanity
The vanity is the most carefully packaged piece of furniture we (or the driver) have ever seen. It was on a piece of plywood inside a cardboard box base, protected by styrofoam panels, corners and styrofoam wrapping, with long plywood corners attached to a plywood top that protects both the quartz top and the entire 4 edges of the vanity. The box base had a cardboard box that slid over all of this (for easy removal) and the entire thing was strapped to a heavy duty pallet.
The quartz top, sink and face of the vanity are beautiful. The hardware is screwed on the inside of the drawers to protect it. If possible, I will add more regarding installation in a few weeks.
Delivery
The delivery driver informed us he was unable to deliver the vanity into our entry ("secure inside home entrance drop-off"), as we have a 8" step up onto the porch and the vanity plus pallet weighed over 400 lbs. He said we had not paid for that level of delivery.
After much negotiation, asking if he could remove it from the pallet and just move the packaged vanity (357ish lbs.) he said he would do it for $60. We agreed.
The pallet/vanity were moved from the truck to the step and then the vanity box was removed from the pallet and slid onto a dolly, to go into the house. The driver helped us unbox so we could view the quartz top/vanity wood face/drawers/hardware. He did not have a delivery slip for us to sign. He left us with copious packing material to be disposed of (not unexpected) and took his $60.
As great as the Wayfair app/website are, this delivery wrinkle was totally unexpected. Wayfair could do a better job communicating what drivers are/aren't capable of. If steps are an issue, please state so. $60 per step?. Patti. Lafayette, CA. 2023-04-29 16:38:08
