I bought the 12 ft Woodbridge shuffleboard table by Playcraft. I am 100% satisfied with it.
I wanted a longer table but I was limited by the tight configuration of my basement stairs. I did extensive research prior to buying this table. This is one of the few 12 ft tables that has climate adjusters. This table has four climate adjusters spaced evenly on the underside of the wooden play surface. In my opinion, buying any table of any length that is not equipped with climate adjusters is risky. Yes, leg levelers allow for adjusting the height of each leg, but leg levelers cannot adjust for variations within the actual play surface. At some point, the play surface on all tables will become either slightly concave or convex due to variations in humidity. A few turns of the climate adjusters will make the play surface true again.
The table arrived as scheduled and was very well packed with no damage. The legs will come in one box. The second box will be about 12 ft 4 inches long and extremely heavy as it contains the cradle with the wooden play surface secured to the cradle by shipping screws (see pic). After getting the second box through the front door, per the instructions I removed the shipping screws and separated the cradle from the play surface. A buddy and I were able to carry the cradle to the basement and carry the play surface to the basement in two separate trips. The cradle comes as one continuous piece and is exactly 12 ft long. The play surface comes as one continuous piece and is exactly 11 ft long. Once the table is setup, the play surface rests by its own weight within the cradle and is not secured to the cradle in any way other than gravity.
Setup and leveling took about 45 minutes, and all the necessary tools were included, except for a level, which you will definitely need in order to properly adjust the leg levelers. From the start my play surface was too concave, so I immediately made adjustments using the climate adjusters. That was about one month ago and since then the play surface has remained true. I expect that I will need to make additional adjustments as it warms up outside and more humidity enters the basement.
I read a few of the reviews saying that this table looks and feels cheaply made. All I can say is that for less than $1000, the look and feel of this table is outstanding. We entertain often and we continue to receive compliments from our guests on how nice the table looks and plays. Maybe the unsatisfied reviewers were expecting the table to be made of solid wood like some kind of majestic piece of furniture. My research showed that if you want a 12 ft solid wood table with climate adjusters, then you’ll need to pay well over $2000.
This table is available from a number of different vendors online. I chose to order from Wayfair because in the past I have found Wayfair's telephone customer service to be superior. This transaction was perfect all around and so I did not need to contact Wayfair customer service, but it's nice to know that I could have had there been a problem.
