I got this 1 1/2 years ago. It is obvious this grill is built to last for the long term. I grill 3 - 4 times a week and this baby is going to endure. The magic of this grill is the heat retention. I needed to replace the cast iron grills on my Regal and didnt want to have to replace them again in the next 5 years. (becuase im lazy and dont season my grills the way I should). So Sear marks or not, I went for the stainless steel rods. Im a believer now. They leave dark sear marks just like the cast irion grills that i had before. They are so much easier to clean.
