In the end, the shed met our needs. It seems well built and designed, but... be warned that the instructions seem clear, but leave out some important facts. Plan for more time to set up this shed than appears. The instructions seemed straight-forward and understandable, but left a few details out. Example: I had no idea that a foundation or platform would be required when we bought the thing. Okay, so, no problem...I took 3 hours to construct a wooden platform to mount the shed on. I actually had the materials on hand, however, here's a chronic problem with the instructions. When I looked for the holes in the floor to fasten the shed to the platform, none existed. All the other instructions were so precise I couldn't understand why they wouldn't put predrilled holes in the floor. After about 30 minutes looking back and forth from the instructions to the floor panel, I just did what any carpenter would do...I drilled the holes. "Okay," you say, "that wasn't so bad." And you'd be right if later on, in step #25, they left out the fact that you needed to put the roof struts into the gables before installing the roofing. By step #31 it was clear there was something missing, so I had to take everything apart back to step #25, and install the struts. All this time I'm following the instructions to a "T" only to find out..."opps, the strut isn't shaped like the one in the diagram" so won't fit right. After 5 hours in 110 degree Phoenix heat, the building came together. Would I order it again? Sure, now that I know how to put it together. Do I think the guy or gal who left out some critical steps in the instructions is a sadist? Yes. BTW, when the instructions say you need two people at certain points...they mean it. Pros: Well designed; seems substantial enough to last a while. It's a deceptively strong/rigid shed. The picture instructions and online video build sequence made it pretty easy to follow along when paying close attention. All parts are labelled accurately so you can lay them out initially to ensure that you have all pieces. Mine came missing a single wall panel, but it didn't prevent me from putting the rest of the kit together. I'm pretty pleased with it. The internal dimensions are pretty close to 5x3 and that enabled me to use two large shelf systems inside for storage. I made a base floor using pressure treated plywood (5.5x3.5), 4 lengths of treated lumber (2x4), elevated on two 4x4 lengths of ground contact lumber. The holes lined up around 95% of the time and I used a drill to insert the short screws that came with the kit while being careful not to strip the holes. I'm satisfied with the results. Shaun. A great option for anybody who is handy. I wouldn't recommend this to someone who is challenged by basic carpentry skills. I made several changes (see pictures): - Built a base to raise it above the ground level ... pea gravel in my case - Caulked all areas where two panels met to keep out water - Used deck screws in place of screws provided to cope with Pacific Northwest weather - Threw away the hardware that came with the shed and installed higher quality - Put in bolts top and bottom of the left door to keep it closed - Treated all surfaces before assembly with a clear wood preservative - Moved all of the shelves to the right side to give more room for long-handled tools - Added hardware for hanging tools ... this required a horizontal 1 X 4 since walls are thin I'm happy with this purchase because it allowed me to build the shed without having to plan, buy and manufacture the individual wood panels. Love this little shed! Sturdy and fits exactly in the spot I wanted it on my back porch area. Added 2 pieces of wood for shelves. Has slots for up to 3 shelves, but I opted for more floor space based on the items I needed to store in my shed. It took my husband and I about 1.5 hours to put it together. Read the instructions and spread everything out first to make sure it’s all there and that you know where things go before you start putting it together. It will go much smoother!
