I did the set up solo. After organizing all of the parts and laying everything out on the floor, the assembly took about an hour. Once assembled, it feels very solid and level after a shake test. The finish of the wood is accurate based on the photo - warm, red undertones. I liked that the wheels are adjustable to even out gaps around the doors. I added small, flat silicone dots to the ends of the doors so that they don’t collide with the frame when being closed and to protect the finish over time. Overall, I would buy this console again.. I like it, but it's not for everyone. This is unique--it's a big, low, orange chair with some BIG ridges in the corduroy. Be aware of things: 1. Because the corduroy ridges are wide and shallow, they don't trap dust as bad as narrower corduroy would (good thing!), but there are some imperfections in the ridges (see photo). 2. This is incredibly soft, but there's only a moderate amount of support in the seat. I weigh 170lbs and it feels fine, but if I were a bit heavier I might feel differently. 3. The back cushion is not attached to the chair with velcro or anything else (see photo), but since the back is curved, it does stay in place nicely. 4. As others mention, the seat height is NOT 18 INCHES, it's about 13 inches. And the footrest is an inch shorter, so your legs will be at a (slight) downward angle. I’m honestly really impressed with this set so far. The packaging came in 4 heavy boxes, so be prepared — this is definitely not one of those super light, flimsy furniture sets. You’ll probably want help moving and assembling it. Assembly took longer than I expected, but once everything started coming together, you could really tell the quality was there. The fabric texture feels soft and rich, the frame feels durable, and the overall look is very elevated and modern. Right now I only have the smaller chair from the set fully assembled in my space, and I already love it. It blends perfectly with my setup and gives that cozy but sophisticated look I was going for. It’s a beautiful glossy black with a faux wood grain. It fits perfectly in an entryway if you don’t want anything sticking out too far. It’s also the traditional entryway height which I love.
