Dimensions may vary slightly from selected, due to the nature of the wood and the time effect on it. We use pine boards for our distressed mantels. This beam is constructed out of ¾” thick Aspen wood and is 6 1/2" tall. You choose the length and depth. Each piece of wood is unique and will have more or less character/knots than the other. It is designed to look like a solid beam without weight. The distressed beams are painted either black or white and have the edges sanded over and a brown stain/wax applied for a distressed look. The distressed beams will not be a solid color. Easy to install utilizing a French cleat mounting bracket which is included. Screws are not included. You will need to purchase 3" screws for the application you will be attaching the bracket to. Wood is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to. If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.

So in love with our cozy new fireplace. It’s HUGE which was great because of our vaulted ceiling. I was afraid that it would look too tiny compared to the height of the walls but it is actually perfect. And, After removing the baseboards behind it And caulking the seams, It looks like a built-in fireplace. Also, it was very easy to put together. I was able to do it mostly by myself. I’m very impressed with how this turned out. It was a lot of pieces to put together but looks great in the end. I got the blue color and love how it looks. The color changing options on the fireplace are fun to play around with. I’m a little disappointed in the heat feature. Thought it would heat up my living room better than it does. I also read some complaints about a smell. I do notice a slight smell to it but I think it’s just because it is new. It’s also very mild and doesn’t bother me at all. This mantel arrived on time and was a great price, but was not made with very much attention to detail when it came to the finishing touches. There was paint rubbed off on the very front of it when we opened it, and scrapes on the sides. Also between the pieces of wood there are gaps which makes it look cheap. We are keeping it and my contractor is going to repaint it and fix these spots, but I’m not sure if I would buy again or not. I could see on the back that it was spray painted and they just didn’t do an adequate job. Pictures included. Otherwise it is a beautiful mantel and I really do like it, it was easy to install (for my contractor not me) and it was a good price.
