I’m mixed about these bookshelves. Good sturdy, heavy, adjustable. You don’t feel like the whole shelf is going to teeter over on you like some of the big store brands. Negatives the backside is that funny fold up cardboard piece. This seems cheaper than the ordinary cheap piece of cardboard that comes with most big pieces of furniture. Overall good quality for the price. Back is flimsy and cheap as other reviews have stated. Wish the adjustable shelf holes were either finished as well or had caps, as they do stick out. Only real complaint is the unit is noticeably chipped in a few areas, either in production or shipment. This thing weighs more than my 2-piece sectional couch!! On the pallet its 225lbs. Requires 2 person lift! Was lucky the truck driver lent me a hand. Anyway, ordered it January 29th, it didn't arrive until well into February because the shipping company neglected to return my phone calls. When it finally did arrive, the box was totally mangled and the product was visibly damaged. I refused delivery and had another one delivered that didn't show up until the following week. This time, the shipping company simply neglected to call altogether and arrived at my door when I was at work to deliver the item. SO...had to wait some more. Finally got it LAST WEEK, Feb. 23rd and ohhh the damage! Every single piece except for 3 had clearly visible damage down to the particle board. Really deep scratches. Luckily, this thing (like all Bush furniture) has a 10 year warranty on it, which includes shipping damage. The guy I talked to at Bush (Terry I think?) was very helpful and understanding. He said he never had to replace that many pieces to one order before. I believe it! Their process is very easy: Just call their 1-800 number and have your instruction manual handy. Then just tell them the letter of the piece you need. But, here I am, March freaking 3rd, and still waiting for my (hopefully) undamaged parts to arrive from Bush so I can have a bookcase. They said delivery would be today..... Bush furniture is 5/5 stars! Its all Chinese made particle-board, but what isn't today? It's just thicker than most other brands. Their finish is great and durable (except in the back of a truck). The experience as a whole has been 1/5 stars. Not happy at all. I'll be content when it finally arrives and is full of books..
