The storage space underneath the cushion is only covered by some thin wood slats knit together so I wouldn't trust falling down onto that cushion. There are a lot of pros and cons with this sectional. the pros... Very easy to set up, they just snap into one another, not super big.So it fits well in a smaller area. each cushion has a zipper, so you can wash the cushions. I love the fact that you have storage underneath for pillows and blankets. The Cons. there is a top cushion that goes on top of the main cushion, and this moves every time you sit on the couch, it should be secured with valcro. the actual back of the sofa should be higher.There is no head support the back of the couch.Comes to where your shoulder blades are. if the back of the couch were higher, it would be perfect. very quick shipping.All seven boxes came within days of each other and I loved the material. it's a little hard, but I'm assuming that's because it's new.
