The Y-Latch is a swing latch that provides adjustability to your gate. Designed to work with aluminum gates and is composed of steel, so it will withstand the most extreme weather conditions. This latch is is lockable in two places for extra security and works with 2" posts and 2" uprights.

This Y-latch is just what I was looking for, it is a little bigger then i needed, but it won't work with my gate. the space between the gate and the post is too small. I think you need at least 2in. Let me put the answer here, maybe it will help somebody else “Handing is determined by the exterior side of the door, whichever side the hinges are on.” The only concerning thing is that it’s hard to turn the lock, you need to put more forces than usual.
