Our Pergola arrived in 3 long boxes. One of the boxes had a large taped up hole on the wide side. After doing the inventory we realized all the hardware was missing from the box with the hole I contacted Wayfair to try and get the hardware. They were fantastic! Great communication. They bent over backwards to ensure we received what we were missing. We ended up receiving an everything we needed. It was tricky at times to put it up. Once we figured thins out it went smoothly. The pergola arrived in good condition. The parts and hardware were labeled well and easy to sort. The instructions were lacking a bit with zero written instructions, only diagrams that occasionally missed the mark. It's sturdy and took 3 adults 3 1/2 hours to assemble, partly because it was a hot day. You'll need a ladder to complete assembly, but everything fits together well. We like the adjustable canvas that allows us to adjust for the changes of the sun throughout the day. It's a great purchase for the price-point. I highly recommend this simple, functional, piece.. We bought the 20x12 to go over our back patio. The house has an eave so we measured and confirmed the stated height of the pergola would fit under the eave. The pergola ended up being several inches higher than the specs. I think 103 inches high when it was complete. Because of this, my husband had to buy a new blade to cut the rear poles several inches He also has to drill new holes. This worked out well but took several hours to address. The instructions aren’t great but we were able to follow them with minimal errors. Putting all the poles together was tedious but to be expected for this size project. Actually raising the pieces and attaching them to make the frame was not very difficult and we were easily able to accomplish it with three people. We had a downpour a day after putting it up, and only one spot has a drop, so I would say it’s pretty water tight. My husband doesn’t love that the roof isn’t opaque, so we may end up painting it. We’ll see. Other than the height issue, I’m pretty pleased with the quality for the price. This pergola is a modern addition that looks sharp attached to my old house. I would have given it five stars. However, it required three professionals and took them four hours to install. This is a product that is medium-duty, fully assembled, DIY, and hand-crafted. Its manual operation includes a pre-installed gear (standard left-side crank) and a 5 ft long crank handle/rocker arm to extend and retract the awning manually. The framework is made out of beautiful commercial-grade steel and aluminum that is powder-coated for protection and rust resistance. The awnings' lateral arms are multi-chambered with dual stainless steel cables. The mounting brackets are powder-coated aluminum and the hardware is stainless steel, providing additional support to the durable frame. The awning fabric cover and valance are woven out of standard grade 100% acrylic fabric and have resistant coatings to help (1) maintain its rich color while being exposed to harsh UV rays, (2) prevent mildew and soil buildup, and (3) maintain a water-resistant barrier allow for rain to roll off of the awning and not soak through the fabric.
