We bought our first home two years ago and this year we decided to work on the yard. We wanted a small pergola in order to make a little square of dirt into something special. This was the only 3 post pergola I could find and it happened to match our fence perfectly. We are thrilled with the results and now have some new DIY skills we didn’t have before. It should be known that this pergola is, in a sense, a vinyl covering for a wooden pergola. It will not stand alone so if you are looking for a quick backyard shelter, I wouldn’t suggest this at all. You will need a saw, a drill, lumber, many levels, string, a tape measure, multiple people and potentially a post digger and concrete of you plan to secure it in dirt. Be prepared to spend more money. Also, read all of the instructions from the start. They are not great (for example, they say you might need a saw but you very much need a saw). I’m giving this review 5 stars because the end result is even better than what I imagined. The item came quickly, in four boxes without any damage. We also had a ton of wind right after installation and the thing stayed solid. That said, it took my husband and myself maybe 5-6 hours over the course of ten days to complete (plus 8 trips to the hardware store and we had to rent a pickup truck). Really a great option for a small space. If you aren’t a skilled DIYer then you’ll either need a professional or a lot of YouTube videos but we did it so I believe in you. Good luck!. Jennifer. Upscale your outdoor entertaining while protecting friends and family from the sun. The Coolaroo Aurora Pergola is a great shade solution that transitions from day to evening. The Aurora Pergola offers a sophisticated and architectural alternative to lower cooling costs by reducing temperatures up to 32 percent underneath which protects furniture, tiling, or decking from fading. It also helps to battle against sun and rain deterioration. Coolaroo's knitted fabric allows hot air to escape and cool breezes to filter through. The fully retractable cover allows for stargazing without moving from a comfortable chair. The Aurora Pergola is sturdy, yet lightweight with the roman style shade canopy which provides superior UV block. Due to the fabric being a knitted shade fabric, it is not waterproof but weather resistant. The knitted construction gives you relief from the heat as it is breathable–so enjoy the stay outside in the sun and also the stars. The knitted fabric is breathable and light-filtering while guarding against mold and mildew. It's easy to clean and will not fade, crack or rot. The frame is constructed out of sturdy, yet lightweight powder-coated aluminum poles which are corrosion-resistant for superior long life. Beyond a reduction in temperature, the fabric is earth-friendly, recyclable, and endorsed by the Melanoma International Foundation, and Oeko-Tex. It is recommended or required for two people to do the assembly of this unit. The fabric top has a 5-year fabric warranty against UV degradation. The pergola is 9't 10" by 9' 10" square and 9' 5" high. All hardware is included for installation.

The Pergola is very nice. It will take two people with six foot ladders to assemble in about 3 or 4 hours. I had a few issues with it, the aluminum base only has two pre drilled holes, it should have have four to balance the weight all around. After you screw in the bolts you have visable unsightly screw holes you must look at. A boot cap would have also been nice to cover the screw at the base of each post. The aluminum is light weight and I live in the windy city,so Im going to fill the post with play sand to reduce movement. The top canopy can be a little tricky to install, the could have made it longer also. Make sure you lay all parts out on a tarp so they will not get damaged or dented up. You will need to provide your on concrete anchors and screws if needed. Rub all parts down with car wax before assembling to prevent rust later. I love this item, but be real rested when doing..
