Uhg! I’m once again wishing for 3.5 stars or a 710. Yes, the Rev-A-Shelf does work and their competition is weak, so I keep buying it. I think this is number four for me in the last few years. It works but they cost so much and leave so much to be desired. The main lacking component in this piece is the absolute waste of space above the can which could easily have been a pull-out drawer. If you’re looking at other pieces, my experience says they’re most likely lacking something too. I hope a competitive company that’s actually good enters the market. For now, let me tell you, it’s probably less expensive and better quality to have something custom-made. I’m doing that for another piece in my kitchen and saving money. I just couldn’t find good cans for this one or would’ve done it too. Over time you’ll probably forget how much you spent on Rev-A-Shelf, which is probably more than twice as much as it’s already marked up retail price should be, but, if you pick it and install it correctly, it should work.. The only real issue (and its not much of one) is with how our sink is in the kitchen island there isn't a good spot to set the plunger when not in use other than in the sink itself. It is powerful and I am really happy how well it does its job. There is no flap that covers the opening to the drain like on traditional disposals. I thought this would be an issue having it open and silverware falling in. With our drain off to the right it really has not been a problem. Although I did have a fork fall into it the fact that the disposals "neck" between the sink and the bottom is long so the fork never fully fell into the disposal it just stood straight up. Also not having that flap covering the disposal makes it much easier to see at a glance if anything has made its way in that should be there. It is noisy but not bad, just as I expected as from traditional. I like the safety of it not turning on unless the plunger is in. We have young kiddos. Just makes me feel better. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After one week of use I have observed that this dishwasher gets the dishes clean (even the stuck on stuff on heavy duty cycle) and is very quiet. It does what it is supposed to do. The only issues I have are that the silverware basket is too small (it needs to be twice as long) and and that you have to download an app to your phone and connect to your dishwasher in order to use some functions (i.e. machine care or rinsing).
