I got this item on opened box for 960. That was half off the list price. When I got it it had a dent that did not take away from the grill at South so I got a 20 refund so not bad for a 700 grill but I did not realize that it required electricity as well as gas feeling right now. The construction is excellent, and the smart features are convenient. My only issue with the grill is that it took a lot longer to assemble than the 35 minutes the directions indicated, and the person who put it together is quite handy. Absolutely Fantastic, read why. It was between this and the W grill. Both at excellent products. Heres my take. The Monument Grill is very well designed, almost completely Stainless Steel (Back and Sides of the base are enamel coated, should last for many years), super easy to clean (more on that), cooks evenly, and has a very wide temperature range. As I was assembling the grill, I kept noting how nicely everything went together, the fit and finish was excellent, and every step was logical. Heck, even the way it came out of the box was engineered well. Cleaning is very easy. The whole bottom just slides out. I take it in the kitchen and lay it across the sink. Boom, done. Heat is very even, flame control is good, and itll get hot, HOT if you need it to. The side burner is a real one, not a custard warmer. Itll boil a pretty large pot in a jiffy. Yep, satisfied. I just bought this to replace a Broil King unit that I bought 6 yrs ago. It pretty much rusted thru and was barely usable, It cost about $1200. So I bought this RG model for about 1/4 the cost. 12 yrs ago I got a new Char Broil unit ant it rusted thru in 6 yrs. So, I guess thats all I can expect a grill to last. We use it year around in east Tn. Grill lives on a covered patio, but I dont use a grill cover. This new RG unit is about half the weight of the Broil King unit, but a lot easier to move around. I converted this RG unit to natural gas ant it seems to work fine. Have not grilled anything yet, tho. The grates are little rough texture, so I will give them a bath in cooking oil prior to using. I will be content if this unit lasts 6 yrs. I was happy with Wayfair and their quick ship service. Item arrived fairly quickly. It’s was packaged ok. My box was torn in a lot of places on the side and could have been better protected. It’s a great grill but it was really tedious for me to put together. It took me about 2 hrs. Just because there were so many little things and steps. The handles on the door cabinet were the worst. But only because I made a mistake. There’s 4 rubber pieces included that you will use when installing the handles on the cabinet but be forewarned…they are not listed on the pieces page or included in the directions when you get to that page. So it wasn’t until after I finally got the screws in that I realized I should have used them. Once I got it together everything worked fine and looked good. We grill all the time in our household so I went ahead and used it a few times so I could give a better review. Couple of things, it’s a work horse and you can cook a lot of food. It’s a very nice grill especially considering the price point is almost double on other models with similar features. Like any grill there’s a learning curve. It’s going to have hot and cold spots. Which after 1 or 2 uses you’ll be able to identify and work around. Grills like a dream once you get your flames and heat zones down. With 4 burners, it will use a lot of gas. I’ll probably get a gauge so I can monitor usage. Love the lights on the knobs. The side burner is my favorite. Super handy and works great. I’m gonna tell you that this thing does not like being dirty. If you don’t clean this after a large cook you’ll probably wind up with a grease fire at some point. The drip deck of the grill slides out the back for easy cleaning. I cover it with foil. Inside the cabinet you’ll find your drip tray and gas connections. I’m not a fan of the drip tray at all. It’s poorly designed and extremely easy to spill when removing. It’s like an easy bake oven pan. Shallow and small. A bucket type holder or deeper type pan would work So much better. Do not let it get full. Make sure To empty it and also line with foil every time. If you don’t then the drippings are going to spill out and get everywhere. Also, get a cover for this. You’ll need it to help protect it and keep things nice and working. Other than my hang ups with the drip collection tray we love it and will use it regularly. I have no issue with recommending this grill and company to anyone. Very good quality. I did order the rotisserie so I’m looking forward to Trying that out. Thanks wayfair.. Chelsea.
