I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. Class 2 transformers are intrinsically safer transformers because they are compartmentalized to allow no greater than 5 amps of current to be drawn on each compartment. Enclosure cover is easy to remove. The transformer has knockouts on three sides with clips for line voltage wiring. Secondary wiring for class 2 transformers does not require conduit sheathed cable or clamp wiring techniques. This transformer has a low minimum load requirement of 1W to allow the use of LED products. Maybe dimmed using an electronic low voltage dimmer.
