I'm a contractor who's been asked lately to install many of these types of tubs. Becoming very popular. There are basically two types of these tubs - full (solid) acrylic and this type which is basically hollow molded. The difference? Well, the solid ones are 2 to 3 times the cost and are VERY heavy. That's a good thing because they feel expensive. However, why pay that when you get the very same thing (look wise)? It's basically the same other than a lot lighter (cheap for shipping and carrying upstairs) You just have to make sure you glue/caulk it well to the floor.. The tub arrived fast, delivery was on spot. The Melody tub is 59.5 not 59 like the side noted. We had to do some creative doing to get the tub into the decided place.
