A beautiful, rich red color background room room-sized antique Persian Kashan rug. Circa date: First quarter of the 20th century – the rich color of this luxurious red carpet has remained brilliant since its creation in the first quarter of the 20th century. This room-sized antique Persian Kashan rug is fit for a palace, but it is small enough for the home or office. Featuring bold reds, this antique Persian rug is a truly spectacular sight to behold. The design of the city rug combines elements of both a medallion with pendants and an overall field design, making this classic traditional rug a truly unique treasure from a design perspective. The design has both horizontal and vertical symmetry that is apparent in both the field and the main borders. This impressive antique room-size rug has formal corners in the field, but they are not carried out in the manner of traditional bracketed corners. Instead, the artist has chosen to place a traditional motif called a boteh in them. Several paisley boteh motifs can also be found throughout the field and incorporated within some of the floral design elements.
