The manual is a universal one, pertaining to other models of Miele vacuums. This made it very confusing for me. I was frustrated by it the first 2 weeks; I'm a senior but I'm not stupid. Then I asked a younger neighbor to help me, & he was able to explain to me how it worked. It would seem to me that when one buys a high priced machine, a manual for just that model could be provided. I' m still getting used to the machine, but I think I'm going to like it, & I value that it was recommended by Consumer Report.
