This cutting board is made of Richlite, a product that looks, acts, and ages like wood but it keeps germs away. Richlite is commonly found in commercial kitchens and has been used for cutting boards and other food preparation surfaces since the 1960s. It is made from resin-treated paper, which is then pressed and baked to create a solid and durable sheet. The cutting board company Richlite material is made with a blend of post-consumer waste recycled paper or FSC certified components. Richlite is an ideal material for cutting boards because of its incredible durability.

So far I have been using these boards and other form the manufacture. The smaller boards I ordered from the company directly had an off gas these did not. So I am guessing they have fully cured. I bought these to try and stay away form plastics. It is always a question if the resin has any plastic in it which is hard to understand. That all said the boards are nice. This is the second Seville cabinet we have gotten and I would buy more. They are sturdy and have great directions and simple design which make them easy to assemble for 1 person. 1 issue with this 24" version is that the holes for cables in the back are too small for most of our 3 prong power cables - the hole is too small if there is even a small tip attached to end piece - many of our power cables have multiple outlets so we need to pass the male end through and they generally don't fit. The other thing to note - but definitely not of much concern to us, was that the little grey "EZ assembly" (something like that) pieces cannot just be pushed in by hand. We had to hammer them as part of the door hanging which is the only place we used them. These little grey pieces were not part of our larger cabinet - which we built first - so we kind of ignored/missed using them in other places, no doubt. Finally, our larger version of this cabinet has wheels but this one does not - wish I had noticed that earlier. If the cable holes were larger and if it had come with wheels, it would easily be a 5..
