First of all, when I went to purchase this item, I thought it was for the lattice and rooftop. The title has both in it and the picture shows both. I did the worst thing possible I assumed that it was for both. Considering the price, I thought it was about right...at least, in my mind it was. Well, this is not for both the lattice and rooftop. It strictly for the latter of the two. Expect to shell out another 150 for the lattice half. Regardless, my assuming is not why I’ve deducted a star from this product but, rather, because assembly is not quick and easy and one miscalculation on where to drill in the screws (no pre-drilled holes for one part of assembly) and you’re left with an unwanted hole. Assembly of the lattice is much worse, but that’s not relevant to the assembly of the rooftop. Love it. All the other reviews are correct, this cedar is raw as it can be so use gloves at all times. Easy as ever to assemble. I used a tinted sealer from Woodmans ( natural cedar tint, sold at Ace hardware). I didn’t sand it as I just used a tinted sealer. Soaked it with just a paint brush, worked beautifully. If you wanted to stain then seal, then there’s a lot of sanding in your future. Original Color out of the box is exactly as pictured in the ad. had to buy this to keep my dog from peeing on my new AC unit that was just installed. The screen does the job it was ordered for - hide the trashcan. Would certainly work for blocking a street view for an air conditioner. I ordered the white vinyl since it would be easier to hose off any mud splatter that the natural wood. Easy to put together, took only 20 minutes.
