I was a little hesitant to buy this based on previous reviews but I have no regrets. I purchased this as a changing table for our nursery. I am 5’7” and my husband is 5’11” and the height is perfect for both of us. We placed the changing pad on top and there’s still room for a warmerlampetc.
Assembly Yes, it’s pretty complicated to build if you aren’t all that handy but I put this together by myself at 30 weeks pregnant while my husband was at work and didn’t have a single issue (with the exception of losing feeling in my legs from sitting on the floor during most of the assembly). Also during assembly you might panic thinking it’s smaller than you thought but really once’s it’s all together it’s just right.
Durability this is definitely not solid wood but I have zero concern about this falling apart any time soon. Years. Everything was assembled tightly and securely. It also comes with an anchor for the wall. There’s no wiggle whatsoever if you try to shake the dresser. This thing is solid.
Complaints (minor) the baskets that come with it are pretty lame. They’re a little flimsy and soft (you aren’t getting that tougher, straw or wicker-like material). The baskets are also not as deep as the shelves so if you push them in they go back probably another 8”. Not a huge issue. I put swaddle blankets and other blankets in each and I’m sure it’ll be fine. All else fails, we ditch them and buy new ones or none at all.
Also, the drawers seem loud. It comes with little pads to buffer this but you may want to pick up thicker ones and possibly place one where the wheels hit the track. It’s not a huge issue, it can just be annoying if you’re trying to put laundry away with a sleeping baby nearby.
