I bought the paintable shutters (which come as a light bluishgray). I did use a primer first then the color next. The shutters were easy to paint the simple design (from my previous ones I had). They did come with the plastic screws, which we never used. I’m not sure why they’re plastic Unless one is using these as an interior design, I don’t know how these would hold up on any kind of siding. We had to buy special anchors and screws since we were placing 4 of these on stone veneer and the others on our siding. I am pleased with the product and they way it gives our house a facelift..
