it is a nice door that you can open and close. we had a 42” opening and my clever husband put a2x4 width wise and then used plastic ties to secure it tight. it works well. when the other kids come over, we asked them to just be careful because there is a reinforce piece so it will lock. Just a remind to step over as they unlock and then lock it back again. baby doesn’t even come near it but sure did want to see the stairs. i recommend this gate,. Lk. Ordered two gates for my outdoor deck. Easy to install and easy to open and close. Main use is to keep my dogs contained as I do not have a fenced in yard.
