it is a nice door that you can open and close. we had a 42” opening and my clever husband put a2x4 width wise and then used plastic ties to secure it tight. it works well. when the other kids come over, we asked them to just be careful because there is a reinforce piece so it will lock. Just a remind to step over as they unlock and then lock it back again. baby doesn’t even come near it but sure did want to see the stairs. i recommend this gate,. Lk. Locks in place and Indigo cant open it with his nose and paw.I bought four because in winter I close off rooms so my fur babies dont go in there and get into mischief, but it make the rooms cold. Now the rooms can stay open so the heat circulates and the rooms are warm.I dont normally post pictures but people with fur babies need all the help they can get to keep them out of mischief. Ordered two gates for my outdoor deck. Easy to install and easy to open and close. Main use is to keep my dogs contained as I do not have a fenced in yard. Thanks to these gates, the dogs can get outside without their leashes. Quick shipping too! Love this gate. I purchased for our granddaughter. I wanted to keep her in one room where she would be safe. She is 10 months old. And crawling all over the place. It was easy install for my husband.
