Great product but be sure you want this size in bamboo thickness. This 3/4” D is much smaller and more see through then the 1”D thick. Rustic split bamboo slat fences have been used for centuries in many regions of the world where bamboo is available. It can be used on its own or attached to cover a chain link fence for added beauty and privacy. They are inexpensive and easy to install. Bamboo slats or split bamboo fences are woven together with black nylon coated wire, as opposed to other split bamboo slat fences in the market that usually tie their fences with bare metal wire exposing unsightly metal and rust. It's definitely more see-through than I would've liked, but it does the job in terms of giving you a decent amount of privacy. The quality is okay, not great...some of the reeds are broken on some ends, and some of the dark parts make it look like the wood is rotting. Lastly, for stability, you do need something to tie it to; for both apartments, ours has been against concrete slabs, so we end up leaving it at an angle and then putting something heavy against the base on both ends to keep it up. For context, the first three pictures are from the initial apartment I used it at right after we bought it; the last picture is after nearly 1.5 years and a move to a new apartment. I really like the look from afar however, the panels were not 6ft by 8, they were short 5-6 in. on the length and were cut to 5’11 in height which totally screwed up our layout. Now we have to order another roll to make up the shortage which btw are now unavailable! Each panel had poles that were not wired through and were extremely crooked.. Angela. I love the look of these bamboo panels on the wall. Each panel weighs around 15 lbs. It has a thin cotton cloth that is attached to the back that holds it together. Bamboo is tough to cut through without splintering, so doing the edges and spaces for outlets was very time consuming with snips. If you are not good with math and have alot of cuts to do, you may want to have this professionally done. I am going to need to get one more for completion prior to starting on the borders. This was done over what was going to be a mural, but I fell in love with the look of these! For installation, I used spray adhesive directly on the perimeter of the wall only on the part that was getting the panel. When that was tacky, I then used plain Liquid Nails as an adhesive again applied directly to the wall all over the part to be paneled, then placed the cut bamboo panel onto the adhesive by lining up the side and bottom to the appropriate places. It stays up that way on its own while drying. I then took a rag and while making sure the cut ends matched up to the angles that it was cut for, smoothed it out to adhere to glue underneath, from left to right, working from the bottom to top. Then repeated that process for the top half. They layer well together. I got a few small splinters while cutting these, so you may want to use gloves. I am very pleased with the way they came out so far, and it would be much easier to do if you have 2 people for installation. I have found them to be quite durable for this indoor wall application, and it definitely is very pretty in person. I did extensive research on this brand of bamboo fencing and did not find any worries. I bought three boxes of the mahogany stained version. They were stunning. I kept the boxes in my living room until my contractor could install them outside. Meanwhile, I could hear very loud snaps and cracks emanating from the boxes. When I opened them, I saw that all of the bamboo was badly split and cracked. I don't think they will last very long, because they are still splitting and cracking. The loud snaps and pops never stop. The bamboo is on a fast and furious self-destruction mission. It is probable that this is a function of my living in a very dry climate.
